Vision

Our vision is to host an event that enables practitioners to travel to China to open new avenues of thought and practice for themselves.

Being in China is an event in itself and for TCM practitioners it can only heighten the experience of new and old TCM ideas.

The essence of our conference is to offer intensive seminars that will make a difference to your clinical practice.

We will be marketing this conference to US, European, Asian, Australian and TCM practitioners from countries outside China.

We are aiming for high quality practical seminars that practitioners feel they have really gained something from.

All seminars will be in English.

Who will come to The Seminars in China?

We expect to attract TCM practitioners who have been in practice for some time.

They will have at least two motivations for attending these seminars.

First, they are committed practitioners with an ongoing desire to treat patients more effectively, and would see this as an opportunity to gain quality practical information for their work.

Secondly, busy practitioners generally don’t allocate a lot of time for themselves. This will be time out from clinic that combines learning with a trip to China.

Perhaps for some a journey to their professional roots.

Why come to China to hear our outstanding speakers?

In every field there are people who seem to be at the forefront of the development of their profession.

As general practitioners we rely on these people to open doors to new strategies, and in our field of TCM to unlock the past and make it accessible to us.

Major Chinese cities are equally accessible from the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The Program and beyond

This year we will have one 4 day intensive seminar.

Post conference hospital workshops and places for clinic observation with TCM specialists in hospitals can be booked when registering for the seminars.

For those with limited time, the scheduling allows for travel and sightseeing on the weekends before and after the conference.

Activities available outside the conference include: Exploring Hangzhou, visiting a Chinese Medicine hospital and pharmacy, a weekend trip to Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain).

Conference Facilities and Accommodation

We have chosen excellent lecture facilities at the Zhejiang TCM Hospital.

A range of accommodation is available from excellent International hospital student accommodation to 5 star hotels.

Choosing comfortable accommodation and surrounds help make for a great experience.

Study in China

The idea for this conference arose because of some disappointing experiences friends had at other conferences, including some of the training experiences available in China.

Many practitioners I know who have been to China for clinical studies would like to return but are reluctant to go through the difficulties many experience in a Chinese language environment with Doctors who are often too busy to give detailed feedback and guidance.

So our plan for conferences that deliver quality seminars, in China, has begun.

The 2007 Conference in Shanghai

The first seminars were in Shanghai in 2007 with Dan Bensky, Volker Scheid, Jane Lyttleton and Dr. Wu Boping. This was an outstanding success. In 2009 we will evolve the seminars into an even more intensive format.
